Do not automatically use ordinary garden soil as container media. Choose a medium for the container, crop, irrigation and expected duration.
Why does potting soil stay wet?

Does adding pumice fix every wet pot?
No. Pumice can change physical structure, but container geometry, irrigation and the full recipe still matter.
