Drainage, base, sand and specialist pumice

Rock & Aggregate

Use this category to compare distinct material jobs. A drain rock, compactable base, sand and horticultural pumice are not substitutes for one another.

Keep it practical

Choose the material by the construction or horticultural job.

This category stays focused: drainage stone, compactable base, sand uses and specialist pumice.

Drainage material

Use appropriate drain rock where the system has a real route for water.

Compactable material

Choose a graded base where compaction and stable support are the goal.

Sand or pumice

Use sand for its intended project; use pumice as a component, not complete soil.

Material limits

Do not make one aggregate solve every site problem.

Drainage performance depends on the whole profile, grade and outlet—not only the material placed in one area.

Common questions

Rock & Aggregate FAQs

Use the project details—not the broad label alone—to choose the next step.

Does drain rock fix every wet site?

No. Water needs a functional path and outlet. Diagnose grading, compaction and drainage before assuming added rock will solve the site.

Is pumice complete growing media?

No. Pumice can contribute durable pore structure inside an appropriate recipe, but plants still need a complete root environment.

How much gravel fits on a full truck?

General planning capacity is approximately 10–12 cubic yards or about 13 tons, subject to the actual material and safe load.

Can I pick up aggregate?

Pickup may be possible with a suitable vehicle or trailer and verified payload. Call before traveling.
