Specialty Planting Media
Some plants and production systems need more than a generic potting soil. Specialty Soils has decades of experience with plant-specific and customer-specific growing media, but not every historical formula should be treated as a permanently stocked retail product.
Used one of our older mixes?
Names such as Blueberry, Rhody, Cactus, Succulent, Palm, Alpine, Aquatic and other legacy specialty mixes may have an established historical formula. We will identify the current equivalent or formulate the appropriate media rather than assume an old recipe is still current.
Professional production?
Nurseries, greenhouses, farms and institutions can start with our current professional media or request a custom review when crop stage, irrigation, fertility or production duration changes the recommendation.
HOW WE HANDLE SPECIALTY REQUESTS
Start with the growing requirements, not the old product name.
- Tell us the plant or crop and where it will be grown.
- Share container size, production duration, irrigation and fertility information when relevant.
- If we made a mix for you before, give us the old formula name, invoice or approximate order date if known.
- We will match the request to a current Specialty Soils product, an established formula, or a custom blend review.
