Miller Container Planting Soil Mix
Our Container & Nursery Mix is a well-draining soil blend designed for professional plant production, container plantings, and specialty propagation. This mix was originally developed and continues to be used by the Elizabeth Miller Botanical Garden, where reliable drainage and long-lasting soil structure are essential.
Made from chunky aged bark, pumice, and compost, this blend provides the ideal balance of air space and moisture retention. The mix holds only the moisture necessary at the root tips while allowing excess water to drain quickly, helping prevent root rot and encouraging strong root systems.
This soil contains a complete natural micronutrient profile from its organic ingredients, but no added synthetic or supplemental macronutrients, giving growers the flexibility to fertilize according to their specific plant needs.
The durable structure of the bark and pumice allows the soil to maintain its integrity in containers longer than many traditional mixes, reducing the need for frequent soil replacement.
