If you are filling most of an empty raised bed, use complete soil. If you are improving an established bed, you may need an amendment.
The fundamental difference
Raised Bed Soil supplies the main growing volume. Clean Green Compost and Farmyard Manure Compost are amendments.
Do not confuse a beneficial ingredient with a complete growing medium.
Refresh without creating a compost-heavy bed
If the bed settles each year, inspect its performance and replace missing physical volume appropriately. Do not automatically refill the entire missing depth with compost every season.
