Potting Calculators & Tables

Plan container runs, bag and bale requirements, and growing-media volume before the crew starts potting.

NURSERY / GREENHOUSE / GROWER

Two ways to plan the same production run.

Use the left calculator when you know how many containers you need to fill. Use the right calculator when you know how much media you have on hand. Actual nursery container capacities vary by manufacturer, so use the custom-volume option when precision matters.

Questions about potting & container calculator

Why can nursery container volume differ from the labeled gallon size?

Nursery container dimensions and trade sizes can vary by manufacturer. For production planning, use the custom-volume field when you know the actual container capacity.

Why does the calculator include a fill allowance?

A small allowance can account for handling, settling and normal production variation. Choose the percentage that fits your operation and media.

Can I use the result to request a growing-media quote?

Yes. Send the container size, container count, calculated media volume, preferred product and schedule through the grower pricing request.
